Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a traditional form of Chinese medicine based on the understanding that the body is linked by energy pathways called meridians.  Illness is seen as an imbalance or blockage of energy flow (Qi).  Therapists use fine, sterile needles that are inserted into specific points on the meridians.  This rebalances the person’s energy, thus treating the underlying cause of the symptoms.  Moxa, a smouldering herb, may also be used to warm the acupuncture points.
