Pilates Reformer

The Pilates Reformer was created in the 1920′s by Joseph Pilates.  The Universal Reformer was designed for all body shapes and sizes and remains fundamentally unchanged from it’s original design and function.  The Reformer is a resistance-based machine that utilizes a set of springs, ropes and and straps that are all connected to a moving carriage.

At Barefoot Studio we have 2 Peak PilatesSystem Deluxe Reformers.  The Deluxe Reformer combines 3 essential pieces of Pilates equipment, (Reformer, Mat, and Cadillac) into one unit thus giving clients a varied Pilates workout which is tailor made for their specific needs.  Pilates exercises can be done lying down (prone or supine), sitting, kneeling, or standing on the carriage.  The straps are used for either your feet or hands, allowing you to either push or pull yourself on the carriage against the resistance of the springs or your own body weight.   The varied tensions of the springs permit you to change your work-out to suit your level and individual needs.

There are hundreds of exercises that can be performed on the Pilates Reformer.  The Reformer works deeply in your body for fast results that will re-shape and strengthen your body.
