The Peak Pilates® Comprehensive Certification is a classical Pilates education program. At each level you will learn to teach mat, reformer, Cadillac, barrel and small equipment, giving you all the tools you need to be a great Pilates teacher.

Peak Pilates Comprehensive Certification has three levels and allows you to progress at your own pace. The first level is the PPC1 course which is delivered over four, three-day weekends supported by an excellent manual and DVD. At the end of PPC1 you will be qualified to teach mat, reformer, Cadillac, barrel and small equipment.

The Peak Pilates Comprehensive Certification prepares you to instruct a range of individual clients and group classes, and teaches you how to modify exercises for special populations.

Level I comprises 4 modules. Each module builds upon the knowledge and skills learned in the prior module and culminate in a Level I Peak Pilates Certification.

Module 1: The Foundation (20 hours) Introduces students to the Pilates principles, fundamentals and the “Powerhouse”, and the Peak Pilates 5-Part Formula. Lessons focus on introductory mat work and building blocks.

Module 2: Introduction to the Apparatus (20 hours) Students progress to lessons on the reformer, high chair, small barrel and high ladder barrel, and learn about transitions, cueing and touch techniques.

Module 3: Beginner/Intermediate Level Apparatus (20 hours) Module 3 adds Pilates low chair exercises, intermediate level reformer and ladder barrel exercises. More advanced teaching concepts include identifying common errors and proper body alignment, and structuring a Pilates session.

Module 4: Teaching, Technique and Assessments (20 hours) Students complete the remaining high ladder barrel exercises, practice teach, and review all exercises. Assessments are completed on the final day. A Peak Pilates Level I Certification is awarded to instructors who pass all Level I assessments and complete 120 logged hours.

Knowledge of basic human anatomy and kinesiology, and at least 20 hours of Pilates training. If you have no anatomy background we can signpost you to some self study which you can complete prior to the course.

Requirements and Certification
Attendance in all sessions of each module; homework assignments; successful completion of written and practical assessments; and completion of 120 logged hours: 25 observation hours, 60 personal practice hours and 35 teaching hours. Upon completion of all requirements, a Level I Peak Pilates Certification will be awarded, which allows the teacher to teach safe and effective beginner to intermediate workouts to healthy individuals.
