<description>EXEL was the first to take cross country ski pole shafts and adapt them for walking on all surfaces. They also were the first to name this awesome fitness activity &quot;Nordic Walking&quot;. Others had used heavier downhill and trekking poles, but EXEL utilized their carbon technology to produce one-piece poles that proved to be lighter, stronger and much more user friendly than cheap/flimsy 2-piece and 3-piece twist-lock and flip-lock poles - especially those from China.

Unfortunately EXEL Poles and EXEL Nordic Walking Rubber Tips/Asphalt Paws are almost impossible to find here in the USA. At WWW.SKIWALKING.COM and the American Nordic Walking System we have EXEL Rubber Tips/Asphalt Paws and ALL sizes of the EXEL Urban Skier Nordic Walking Poles in-stock. These quality EXEL poles are equipped with the Salomon patented Evolution Nordic Walking Straps - a favorite for skiers and Nordic Walkers.

When hosting Nordic Walking Classes I exclusively use one-piece SWIX and EXEL Nordic Walking Poles. It would appear easier to use 2-piece collapsible poles, but I don&#039;t want my students to experience the additional rattle, vibration and risk of collapse that collapsible poles are famous for. We also refuse to sell adjustable poles to seniors or any individuals with balance issues due to the risk of collapse.
