EXEL was the first to take cross country ski pole shafts and adapt them for walking on all surfaces. They also were the first to name this awesome fitness activity “Nordic Walking”. When hosting Nordic Walking Classes I exclusively use one-piece SWIX and EXEL Nordic Walking Poles. It would appear easier to use 2-piece collapsible poles, but I don’t want my students to experience the additional rattle, vibration and risk of collapse that collapsible poles are famous for. We also refuse to sell adjustable poles to seniors or any individuals with balance issues due to the risk of collapse.
