About

Barefoot Studio is a vibrant company that works with you to help you find and realise your full potential. We believe that movement should be expressive, free from pain and above all joyful. Our approach is warm and will relax you as you build strength and flexibility from the feet up. Life is a journey full of movement and we want to enjoy every minute of the ride!

Our holistic approach to body movement incorporates Nia, Pilates and Nordic Walking. Barefoot Studio provides:

Barefoot Studio was founded in 2003 by Karen Ingram and Paula Wooding. Karen heads up the studio teaching programme and therapist team and Paula leads on the retail.

Karen Ingram
Co-Director

Karen is a qualified Pilates teacher and a member of the Body Control Pilates Association & Peak Pilates. She is the (INWA) Nordic Walking National Coach for Wales and a Brown Belt NIA teacher. Karen is also a qualified MBT trainer/therapist. She teaches from her Cowbridge studio and presents workshops across the UK and internationally.

Paula Wooding
Co-Director

Paula is a qualified (INWA) Nordic Walking Instructor and experienced MBT trainer. Her passion is good customer care and finding the right product to meet each individual’s needs.

You will usually find Paula either marching her Nordic Walking class up the nearest big hill or at a trade fair finding the next exciting line to stock in our shop!

Barefoot Store
Our shop sells a carefully researched collection of clothing, equipment and accessories perfect for life on the move. Clothing by Rohnisch, Prana, Odlo and Salomon. Nordic Walking Equipment from Exel and Leki. Fitflops and MBTs help strengthen your legs and we have a whole range of pilates and yoga equipment. We also sell specialist ergonomic seating from Swopper… in fact too much stuff to list here!
